"what's new" entries are listed here for ~3 months, and then deleted (in theory). they'll usually be concerned with new images, pages, or links being added. simple updates to the events page, and to the information contained on the individual city pages in the contacts section are not noted, except in the case of city statistics (the last update of which is noted at the top of that section on an city's page) and in the event of me getting excited about finding messengers from somewhere we had no contacts.

joel/webmaster update: after a bout of altitude sickness on sunday while on short vacation in the mountains, i had a cat scan and spinal tap done cause i was in extreme headache pain and checked into ER with some weird facial numbness and an extraordinarily high blood pressure. everything is all well and good in that department though - no aneurysm (which was the worry), and the blood pressure is down to normal shortly thereafter. but the issue at hand is the residual spinal headache, which is a side effect of the spinal tap, due to leakage of cerebro-spinal fluid while the tap hole in the spinal cord is healing. basically, my brains nice comfy waterbed isnt refilling as fast as my brain would like, and it makes it VERY uncomfortable to do anything but lie horizontal - which means no sitting at the computer for extended periods of time. no going to work, either. recovery time is typically a couple days, but can go a week or more. its been 4 days so far, and im hoping itll end soon, cause missing work, and being unable to work on things i need to work on is really pissing me off. my apologies for the lack of updates in the interim time here - ill do what i can, but sitting upright for more than about 5 minutes at a time just isnt happening right now... therell be a swarm of updates once im well, though - in the meantime, keep your eyes on the mailing lists...

ding ding! UPDATE MADNESS round 3: 1998 down means the events archive is FINISHED! In theory, I'm going to "rest up" and get back to the ifbma directory Sunday, but I think the odds of me at least starting to attack it today are 50/50.

first real "what's new" entry of the new site! an archive version of the long-defunct vbca.org (minus images) is linked from the Vancouver info page - includes an important partial archive of Vancouver's messenger zine, The Spoke

UPDATE MADNESS round 2: the resources section, and archived events for 1993-1997 and 1999. I am ON FIRE! (and my fingers hurt), but it's midnight now and I require sleep. Should be able to finish up 1998 and the ifbma section tommorrow.

UPDATE MADNESS! phase one of the messengers.org site overhaul has begun (well, actually, it began last weekend...), taking 9 years of oft-changing coding patterns, and plenty of deprecated html, and making it all css and uniform throughout the site. its a major undertaking, and there will be a lot of dead-end links and links that lead to pages/directories from the old site for a few weeks here, so please be patient - again, i promise it will be worth it. currently uploaded: the main page, this page, the whole contacts section, the current events page, and archived events for 2000-2003.
