Berlin to Szczecin ride
Riding a bike from Berlin? Here’s the route we recommend (hey ho, strava addicted!), rode by Oskar cycling (meet him for CX trackclocross ride) and here’s .gpx file for all garmin maniacs!
Here are some comments and photos about the route from our beloved Oskar:
- mostly asphalt roads, OK for road & fixed bikes;
- short (not longer than 2 km) ‘gravel’ section about 4 km before Biesenthal;
- there might be some disturbance due to roadworks befre Oderberg – you shoud be able to ride through, though;
- Stolzenhagen – Gartz section goes through Oder – Niesse bicycle trail, mostly concrete & asphalt, you’re totally good to go on 25 mm tires;
- roadworks on Friedrichstal – Gartz section of the trail mentioned above, it’s best to choose a detoru through B2 road;
- there’s about 2 km of not-that-scary cobblestones on the B2 road out of Gartz, you should be able to make on every bicycle type. If you want to avoid it there’s an alternative: a detor through the woods along the Oder – Niesse trail (Gartz – Mescherin – Staffelde – Neurochlitz), but it can get bumpy because of the tree roots pushing through the concrete.
